Ladakh is called moonland on the earth Ladakh is part of Jammu and Kashmir State. In present times there is only two land routes to Ladakh in use are from Srinagar and Manali and samsytourandtravels provide packages from both sides.
Travellers from Srinagar start their journey from Sonamarg, over the Zoji La pass (3,450 m; 11,320 ft) via Drass is second coldest place in the world after siberiya and passes Kargil (2,750 m; 9,020 ft) passing through. This has been the main traditional gateway to Ladakh since historical times and is now open to traffic from Ending April or May until November or December every year.
The newer route is the high altitude Manali-Leh Highway from Himachal Pradesh. The highway crosses four passes, Rohtang la (3,978 m; 13,051 ft), Baralacha la (4,892 m; 16,050 ft), Lungalacha la (5,059 m; 16,598 ft) and Taglang la (5,325 m; 17,470 ft) and the More plains and is open only between May and November when snow is cleared from the road.
Detailed Tour Itinerary
- DAY 01: ARRIVE LEH
Arrival Leh by morning flight and transfer to the hotel. After welcome drink take a complete rest for acclimatization to the height altitude of Leh (3500 meters). In the late afternoon drive to the city for an orientation walk in the markets‚ followed by a visit to Shanti Stupa‚ Leh palace. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
SHANTI STUPAÂ is situated on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district, Ladakh, in the north Indian state of Leh. Shanti Stupa as know Buddhist white-domed stupa. It was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura .The Shanti Stupa holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama himself. Shanti stupa has provides beautiful and panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. This has become a primary reason for Shanti Stupa to become a popular tourist attraction, apart from its religious.
THE LEH PALACE, also known as ‘Lhachen Palkhar,’ is a 17th-century former royal palace and one of the central attractions in Leh. Built under the patronage of by King Sengge Namgyal, it used to house his family. The nine-storey dun-coloured palace now houses a museum and a prayer room, while the highlight is the sweeping view of Leh and the surrounding Zanskar mountain from the rooftop.
- DAY 02: LEH EXCURSION TO MONASTERIES (40 KMS / 02 HRS – ONEWAY)
Post Breakfast we proceed for Indus Valley Monastery Starting with Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism, Thiksey Monastery an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village, Shey Palace, The ancient capital of Ladakh, 3 Idiots Rancho School & Sindhu Ghat. After visiting above places we drive back to Leh. Overnight at Hotel.
SHEY – It was the ancient capital of Ladakh and even after Singge Namgyal built the more imposing palace at Leh, the kings continued to regard Shey, as their real home. The importance which was attached to Shey – the seat of Ladakh’s heartland – is attested by the enormous number of Chorten about the village, particularly around the palace complex and barren plain to the north of the road.
THIKSEY – Is one of the largest and most impressive Gompas. There are several temples in this Gompa containing images, stupas and exquisite wall paintings. It also houses a two – storied statue of Buddha which has the main prayer hall around its shoulder
HEMIS – Which is dedicated to Padmasambhava, what a visitor can observes a series of scenes in which the lamas, robed in gowns of rich, brightly colored brocade and sporting masks sometimes bizarrely hideous, parade in solemn dance and mime around the huge flag pole in the center of the courtyard to the plaintive melody of the Shawn.
- DAY 03: Leh- NUBRA VALLEY VIA Khardung La Pass.160 kms 5 Hrs Drive Approx.
Alfter early breakfast we drive to Nubra Valley via KHARDUNG LA. The road journey from leh over Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road In The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is 10,000 Ft. above sea level.
Upon arrival in Nubra we check in at our Camp / Hotel in Hunder for Overnight stay. In the evening visit local areas and enjoy double humped camel ride on San dunes of Hundur free time to leisure .Overnight Stay at the Camp or Hotel.
- DAY 04: Nubra - PANGONG LAKE – 14,000 FT. (280 KMS / 7- 8 HRS – ONE WAY)
After an early breakfast we leave for Pangong Lake through via Shyok River you Have to cross River as early possible ( Driver will help you about timing. After drive a Beautiful valley and passes finally you can have a sudden view of the Pangong Lake situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m).
This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 Kms wide and over 133 Kms long with half of its running the other side of the “INDO CHINA BORDER”. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. After the success of 3 Idiots, this beautiful natural location has attracted more tourists from all over the world Enjoy the color changing lake and the sun set on the banks of lake. Overnight at Pangong.
- DAY 05 : Pangong – LEH (120 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)
Early morning enjoy the picturesque view of Sun rise on lake. After Breakfast drive back to Leh, En-Route you will pass through the Changla, a high mountain pass and the world’s 3rd highest motorable road. It is on the route to Pangong Lake from Leh. The name literally means ‘Pass towards the South’ or ‘Pass in the South’ (Chang = south, La = Pass). overnight in Leh.
- Day 06 | Leh Airport
After breakfast depart from Leh Airport. Back to Home, Leave with Happy Memory…
